The Biggest Comeback in NBA Finals History — This Is Why We Love the NBA
I've watched a lot of basketball. I love the Toronto Raptors.
Yesterday I was watching Game 4 of the NBA Finals — Spurs vs Knicks. The Spurs had just won Game 3 but were still down in the series 1-2. Game 4 started the same way — the Spurs were basically kicking the Knicks' ass. By the end of the first half, Spurs led 76-49.
My group chat with my buddies was basically ready to call it. Go to sleep. Series over for the night.
I almost did.
Thank god I didn't.
I had an inkling the Knicks might make it interesting. Because that's literally what they've done in almost every playoff game this year. That's how they got to the Finals — they never give up, and in the clutch moments, they give the ball to Captain Clutch Jalen Brunson and let him work. He did it in Game 1 against the Cavs and absolutely cooked James Harden.
So I kept watching.
By now we all know what happened. The Knicks won — completing the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history, erasing a 29-point deficit. But you have to watch those final moments to really feel it. The tension inside MSG. The disbelief on the faces of celebrities courtside — Seinfeld, Taylor Swift — when OG made the tip-in basket for the win.
That's the NBA. That's why we watch.
Onto Game 5! 🏀
